Language and Cultural Immersion Program - Thailand
Trip code: THA16

The program enables volunteers to intrinsically learn about Thailand before starting their volunteer project. The 7-day program is designed to give volunteers a glimpse into life in Thailand and what the mentality of the people is like, and how you can overcome any hurdles you might encounter while in Thailand. You'll learn the Thai language, so you can communicate. You'll tour historic, cultural and religious sites and learn about the prevailing socioeconomic and political situation. It's an intriguing program full of insight into daily life in Thailand.

Tentative Schedule

Days Program Brief
Day 1: A short reception will be held at the office of Rustic Volunteer. An orientation program will follow in which you’ll learn about the current situation in Thailand, including health issues. You’re encouraged to ask about anything that you think will be helpful during your stay in Thailand. Our knowledgeable staff will answer all your queries. You’ll also be given a schedule of how your cultural program will proceed.
Day 2: Start of your Thai language class. English is not widely understood by the local people in Thailand and it is a must for volunteers to learn English if they are to communicate well with local people. You'll start your program with popular expressions and words. In the afternoon, you'll visit Ayutthaya, the ancient capital of Thailand. Ayutthaya is strewn with magnificent ruins.
Day 3: You'll continue with your language class. You'll study in the morning and in the afternoon tour popular sites in Bangkok.
Day 4: You'll continue with your language class.
Day 5: You'll explore Thailand more as you tour and enjoy sites and local culture.
Day 6: More language instruction as you learn how to construct sentences and interact with other volunteers and your tutor using Thai.
Day 7:

Last day of the program – there will be a small appraisal and your strength and weakness in the language you’ve just learned with be evaluated. Remember this is not a test and you won’t fail or pass.

Also, during language instruction, your tutor will be passing on valuable information about Thailand, the prevailing cultural practices, and the dos and the don’ts.

The schedule is subject to change depending upon the local situation. Our country coordinator will provide you the accurate schedule during the orientation program.
