Detailed Itinerary
Date: June 25 – July 22, 2012
Day One: Arrive in Kilimanjaro airport, Moshi
Your program will start with introduction program. You’ll been local Rustic Volunteer’s staff and will take part in the orientation. In the program, you’ll learn about the culture, tradition and history of Tanzania, as well as things that will be important to you during your program in Tanzania.
Day Two to Twenty Two: Work in Orphanage (21 days)
You’ll start the first phase of the program with volunteer work. You’ll work in an orphanage where you’ll provide love and care to the children. You’ll teach them English, other subjects and nursery rhymes. You’ll also participate in games with them and organize other activities like drawing, painting and educational tours. You can visit the local markets and sightseeing places during your free time.
Day Twenty Three: Closing of service project and preparation of Safari
Day Twenty Four – Twenty Eight: Tanzanian Safari and Excursions Starting with Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park
With volunteer work over, it’s time to relax and see the remarkable beauty of Tanzania. You’ll safari during the tour and see mesmeric wildlife and animals.
Day Twenty Four: Lake Manyara National Park
Start early morning be departing for Arusha and set out for Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara is a scenic gem. The short, hard-hitting game-viewing experience gives you the taste of Tanzania’s large variety of wildlife.
With lush groundwater likened to that of a jungle, this area supports an abundance of wildlife, which includes blue monkey, buffalo, elephant, giraffe, impala, hippo and over 400 species of birds! In addition to the variety of wildlife, the landscape offers picturesque views of forests, grassy floodplains stretching east, an alkaline lake, and the dramatic, volcanic peaks of Maasai Steppes.

Day Twenty Five: Transfer to Seronera, Serengeti
You will be transferred to Seronera, the heard of Serengeti passing by the wildlife observation. Packed lunch will be provided on the way to Seronera.

Day Twenty Six: Serengeti National Park
Set out for the Olduvai Gorge where you can explore a small museum detailing the archaeological importance of this world-famous area. At midday, set out for the Serengeti National Park for an afternoon game drive.
"The crown jewel" of Tanzania's protected areas, the Serengeti makes up some 14% of the country's total land area and is the place where massive migration of over a million wildebeest, along with approximately 200,000 zebra takes place from other areas. Following the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains in October and November, a massive population of wildlife then moves west and north after the long rains in April, May and June. This ancient occurrence is so imbedded in the instinct of these animals that nothing inhibits this massive demonstration.

Day Twenty Seven: N”Gorongoro Conservation Area
Awake for a sun-rise safari before heading out to the N'gorongoro Conservation Area. Deemed the "eighth wonder of the world's greatest natural spectacle," the N'gorongoro Conservation Area boasts a combination of swirling landscapes, various wildlife, wonderful people and ancient archaeology unsurpassed by any other location in Africa. The volcanoes, grassland, waterfalls and forested mountains are home to an abundance of animals - lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes as well as a prismatic catalog of hundreds of bird specimens.

Day Twenty Eight: Tarangire National Park and Closing
Embark to Tarangire National Park for a full day’s safari. This is a house for large number of elephants (in upwards of 1000), Taragrine National Park also offers more chances to observe other wildlife such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards in addition to its massive diversity of wildlife as wll as the symbolic Baobab tree. Tarangire National is an ornithologist’s paradise, offering a variety of feathered species, including some of the most aggressive birds of prey flapping their expansive wings over the famously-varied fauna rich in birds of prey and an incredible diversity of avifauna. The day concludes with a return-trip to Arusha in the evening where participants will remain overnight.

Day Twenty Eight: Closing of Program and Departure
Last day of project as volunteers are dropped of at their respective accommodations. Program ends when participants are dropped off.
