"Pirivena" is traditionally defined as "the temple school where young monks study." The "Pirivena" in Sri Lanka is in great need of volunteers to teach English to aspiring, knowledge-hungry monks as the schools have very limited resources and are greatly understaffed. Rustic Volunteer Travel coordinates this project with partner organizations to help encourage and nurture the self-reliance of the neediest, most humble monks of Sri Lanka. Volunteers are sought for these poorly-understaffed orphanage centers to provide willing, helping hands as well as love, care and attention to the unfortunate children
All volunteer programs start on the second and fourth Monday of each month.
