Project/Volunteer's Life:

Volunteers need to be dedicated and work with patience. You’ll be involved in therapy and when teaching in special education. Volunteers may also help take care of the disabled children and tasks included in that. The seniors will also need help with their physical stimulation as you monitor progress and supervise activities.

Skills and Qualification

Whilst there are no specific qualifications required for this project, you must be passionate about helping the children or old people to volunteer in the project and you must be willing to share their time and compassion with patience and high flexibility.

Living with a host family will provide you with a wonderful opportunity for you to learn about the lifestyle and cultures of local cultures. Volunteer will also have an access to our office in South Africa and mobile number of our coordinators. Our staffs also visit volunteers in each 2-4 week interval as a part of the program. Head of the host project serves as an immediate contact/supervisor. Details covering living accommodations provided prior to arrival.

Project Locations:

Disabled Children/Old Age Care projects are available in Cape Town (home to Table Mountain, Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, and City Bowl). South Africa's multicultural metropolitan cities are renowned for its deep rooted African cultural atmosphere where visitors are always welcomed. It's full of contrasts: from traditional culture and history to modern infrastructure and most of the amenities you would expect from a city. Volunteers can organize several combinations of potential excursions during and after the project to visit places of interest. There is a tourist infrastructure already in place that the volunteers can use during weekends. For example: national parks & harbors, hiking, markets, museums, restaurants, nightclubs, festivals/carnivals, wine tasting, art galleries, whale watching, beaches, hotels, and many more.
