Privacy Policy

Rustic Volunteer & Travel collects personal information to enhance the program quality. We collect personal information mostly from inquiry from and on-line application form. We keep your privacy seriously and do all we can to protect it. Rustic Volunteer & Travel promises to keep all information about our clients totally private. We have been doing business on the Web since 2007, and we have never sold our Email lists, or any other client information. This means that information about your education, your career, your test results, hobbies, phone numbers, Email address, postal address, and interests will be kept totally confidential. Occasionally, we use your email address to pass the Rustic Volunteer & Travel newsletter, promotion materials, and event information (you can easily unsubscribe it by clicking a given link)

Cancellation and Refund Policy - applicable to both volunteer and travel program

Refund Policy and Considerations. Compared to similar companies that provide comparable comprehensive volunteer service opportunities, Rustic's Program Fees are significantly less than the fees charged by other such companies and Participants are encouraged to compare Rustic's Program Fees to the fees charged by other similar programs. As a consequence, Rustic operates on a much smaller profit margin and is therefore unable to provide and does not provide an open refund policy. It is solely Your decision to join our Program and no Applicant should participate in Our Programs if the Applicant feels that he or she is paying more for the services than Applicant will be receiving from Our Program. Rustic commits significant resources to arranging each Placement and Project. In most Host Countries, payments to Volunteer/Travel Coordinators, Country Coordinators, Project Staffs and/or the Host Families are made well in advance to pay for their commitments and services. Rustic is unable to recover these advance payments so Rustic is required to adopt and enforce a strict policy against refunds, except as otherwise specifically provided in subsection 5.2 below.

Refund Restrictions. Your payment of the US$ 200.00 deposit to Rustic pursuant to subsection 4.2 is strictly non-refundable under any and all circumstances.

Cancellation 50 or More Days from Start of Project. If You notify Rustic in writing of a requested cancellation of a travel package/Project fifty (50) or more calendar days from the start of the travel/Project Period, as set forth in the Term Sheet, Rustic agrees to refund to You seventy-five percent (75%) of the total Fee, excluding the nonrefundable deposit fee of $200.00 and any applicable bank charges.

Cancellation 35 to 49 Days from Start of Project. If You notify Rustic in writing of a requested cancellation of a travel package/Project 35 to 49 calendar days from the start of the travel/Project Period, as set forth in the Term Sheet, Rustic agrees to refund to You sixty-five percent (65%) of the total Fee, excluding the nonrefundable deposit fee of $200.00 and any applicable bank charges.

Cancellation 15 to 34 Days from Start of Project. If You notify Rustic in writing of a requested cancellation of a travel package/Project 15 to 34 calendar days from the start of the travel/Project Period, as set forth in the Term Sheet, Rustic agrees to refund to You fifty percent (50%) of the total Fee, excluding the nonrefundable application fee of $200.00 and any applicable.

Cancellation 14 or Less Days from Start of Project. If You notify Rustic in writing of a requested cancellation of a travel package/Project 14 or less calendar days from the start of the Project Period, as set forth in the Term Sheet, Rustic agrees to refund to You twenty-five percent (25%) of the total Fee, excluding the nonrefundable application fee of $200.00 and any applicable.

Cancellation On or After Start of Project Period. If You notify Rustic of a requested cancellation of a travel/Project on or after the start of the Project Period, no refund whatsoever will be made to You under any conditions or for any reasons.

Cancellation of Project by Rustic. If Rustic cancels a travel program/Project before the start of the travel/Project Period, Rustic will provide You a full refund of the applicable Fees. If Rustic cancels a travel/Project after the start of the travel/Project Period because of a sudden outbreak of disease, political instability, natural disaster or similar condition beyond Our control, Rustic will refund to You a portion of the Fees based upon the remaining days/weeks in the travel/Project Period. The daily/weekly rate ranges from $50-150 per week depending upon the particular Host Country, as further explained in the Term Sheet.

Cancellation of English Teaching Project. If either Rustic or the Applicant in the paid teaching program in China or Thailand cancels the teaching Project after the start of the Project Period for any reason, no refund whatsoever will be made to Applicant since there are no weekly fees in these two teaching programs.

Payment of Refunds. Any refunds payable hereunder by Rustic will be made to You within ninety (90) days from confirmation of cancellation.

Credit Card Security

Customers who buy through the Rustic Volunteer & Travel online system are shopping on a secure server, which encrypts all of the customer's personal information including name, address and credit card number. Encryption ensures that no one can access or use personal information in an unauthorized manner. Our commerce system was developed in-house with security as its number one priority. This single entry point allows to maintain the tightest access control - eliminating (rather than closing) the backdoor. Web Information

Information provided on Rustic Volunteer and Travel's website is generic in nature. Rustic Volunteer and Travel works with hundreds of local projects while offering volunteer abroad programs. The nature of these programs varies from location to location. Therefore, Rustic does not guarantee complete accuracy of the information contained on the website. Volunteers agree to further verify all information prior to departure

SSL (Secure Socket Layers)

Because we accept sensitive information from end-users such as passwords and credit card numbers, Rustic Volunteer & Travel's site uses SSL. This logic encrypts the data being sent to the server from the browser using high-level encryption technology. Once the data is received from customers on the Rustic Volunteer & Travel Network, it may be required that the data be maintained for a certain period of time inside our private network. Encrypting the data means it cannot be viewed in plain text.
