Detailed Itinerary
Day Zero: Arrival and Transfer to Home base
You will arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, Kenya. Our representative will meet you at the airport. You will then be transferred to Rustic Volunteers’ hostel.
Day One: Introduction and Orientation:
The first day starts with an orientation. The briefing will cover important issues, so please pay good attention. You will be advised about health and safety issues, provided with information on home base, told about the climate, and you will be informed about your project work and if there are any changes in the tour itinerary.
Day Two: Project Site
You will enjoy breakfast before departing for the project site. Upon arrival, our representative will introduce you to all the staff and people at the orphanage.
Day Three - Six: Project Work (Work in Orphanage)
You will start your project work. Provide the orphaned children in the orphanage with plenty of care and love and try to nurture their talents. Specific work will include, cleaning the children, changing their clothes, cleaning their room and their bed, making sure they are well fed, teaching English and any other creative games you might know. The orphanage staff will assist you.
Day Seven: Free Day
Tour Nairobi or just chill out on your off day. You can visit Nairobi National Park; Naivasha’s Fresh Water Lake or try out Hells Gate Game Reserve. Seek advises from host family members or in-country coordinator.
Day Eight - Nine: Continue Project Work
After a day of rest and hopefully rejuvenation, carry on with your charity work. Remember, if you have any problems that you want to talk about, our in-country coordinator is always there to help you. You just have to call.
Day Ten: Last Day of Work
Bid adieu to the children, the orphanage staff.
Day Eleven - Thirteen: Maasai Mara Game Reserve and Ernest Hemmingway Trail
Kenya is home to abundant wildlife and great variety of Game Reserves. Perhaps no country in the world is as famous as Kenya in Game Reserve. The Maasai Mara Great Rift Valley Reserve is one of the best known in Kenya. Wildlife galore comfort in the reserve. It is also the seasonal home of thousands of wildebeests that spend about half of the year here and the other half in neighboring Serengeti National Park in Tanzania.

Day Eleven: Nairobi - Maasai Mara
Your first destination upon leaving Nairobi is Narok. You will head south along the floor of the Great Rift Valley and after arriving in Narok have lunch. The road then climbs the western wall entering the so called Hemmingway's country or the "Serengeti Plains". You will reach the Maasai Mara Game Reserve in the late afternoon and you will also be involved in a game drive en route. Dinner and overnight stay at the campsite.

Day Twelve: Maasai Mara
Your first full day will be filled with rich game viewing. Traverse across the Masaai Mara grasslands and rolling hills and marvel at some of the largest lion prides in Africa. You will also encounter leopards, cheetahs, elephants, rhinos, giraffes, zebras and much more wildlife. This is the day when the whole animal kingdom comes before you like you’re watching a documentary. Dinner and overnight stay at the campsite.

Day Thirteen: Maasai Mara - Nairobi
After quenching your thirst of watching wildlife, you will leave for Nairobi. Enjoy breakfast before leaving. On the way, you will travel through Maasai country interacting with the Maasai Tribes. The tribes are considered the traditional "keepers" of this spectacular wilderness. Enjoy a picnic lunch en route and arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon.
