Program Brief |
| Day 1: |
Brief reception at the office of Rustic Volunteer. An orientation program will follow in which you'll learn about the current situation in India. You're encouraged to ask about anything that you think will be helpful during your stay in India. Our knowledgeable staff will answer all your queries. You'll also be given a schedule of how your cultural program will proceed for next 7 days. |
| Day 2: |
Start of your Hindi language class. India has many languages and English is one of two national languages and is widely spoken and understood. However, the poor uneducated people of Northern India only speak and understand Hindi and you'll be interacting and working with these people. You'll start your language training with popular expressions and words. |
| Day 3: |
You’ll tour the sights of Delhi, which will include historically, religiously and culturally significant places. Our staff will guide you and you can ask as many questions as you want to our staff. |
| Day 4: |
You’ll go back to learning Hindi. You’ll learn in a fun kind of way, interacting and practicing what you’ve learned with your fellow volunteers and the tutor. |
| Day 5: |
Your sightseeing tour moves to the older part of Delhi, known simply as Old Delhi. You’ll walk amidst throng of people and visit grand mosques, forts and markets. |
| Day 6: |
You’ll continue with your language and your learning will step up a notch as you start to construct sentences and communicating more effectively. |
| Day 7: |
Last day of the program – there will be a small appraisal and your strengths and weaknesses in the language you’ve just learned with be evaluated. Remember this is not a test and you won’t fail or pass. Also, during the language instruction, your tutor will be passing on valuable information about India, the prevailing cultural practices, and the dos and the don’ts. |
