Volunteer work will vary depending on the skills and interests of the volunteer. Volunteers may be called upon for tasks ranging from observation to assistance to carrying out procedures as a qualified social/health professional. Volunteer tasks may range from taking blood pressures and temperatures to performing first aid and distributing medicines. If you have the specific skills you can also help and care for a group of mentally and physically disabled persons living in the hospital. They also need volunteers to organize cultural activities with the patients, orphans and elderly who live there.

Only medical students or professional can join this project. You should be able to furnish some proof of previous medical field-related experience or expertise will be allowed an increased level of contribution/participation. While Spanish is preferred it is not required. Rustic Travel Volunteer offers free Spanish lessons to participants volunteering in Guatemala . All volunteers are encouraged to be flexible, patient and adaptive.

Rustic Volunteer Travel manages room/food for volunteers. Volunteers live with the host family and we manage a separate/shared, simple, clean and modest room as well as local meals three times a day. Volunteer will also have an access to our office in Guatemala and mobile number of our coordinators. Our staffs also visit volunteers in each 2-4 week interval as a part of the program.
