Cambodia is one of the poorest nations in the world. People survive with bare minimum and many can't feed themselves. The country arrived in this state because of its violent past. The recovery process is well underway. Cambodia however cannot survive without foreign aid but corruption at all levels of government means aid is not trickling down to the poor. In this situation, orphaned children have suffered perhaps the most. UNICEF estimates Cambodia has around 100,000 orphans but there is very little help from the government.
There are however many local and international efforts underway to house, feed and education these orphaned children. Rustic Volunteer and Travel has cooperated with one of these initiatives and are helping children survive in Cambodia. You can now volunteer in the project and also help the orphaned children. The program is the perfect opportunity for volunteers looking at opportunities to share their love, passion, and skills with these very-unfortunate children who have rarely experienced love in their life.

| Project/Volunteer's Life: |
As a volunteer in Cambodia working for orphanage, you'll be involved in many activities that will raise the moral of the children, make them confident and make them able to dream of a better future. You'll teach the children, mainly improving their English and make them finish their homework. You'll take care of them by making sure they sleep well, are well washed and cleaned and eat properly. You'll also teach them nursery rhymes, play with them all kinds of games and tell them stories. All this will make them feel loved and give them the confidence to work hard to have a better future. |

| Skills and Qualification |
Whilst there are no specific skills and qualifications required to volunteer in orphanage project in Cambodia, you should be passionate about uplifting the lives of poor children. You should also be flexible and open-minded during the program as working conditions and the mentality of people in Cambodia will be very different from what your used back home. |

| Meals/Accommodations: |
Rustic Volunteer and Travel will manage your room/food (consisting of local food) for volunteers. Volunteers will live with the host family and you'll be provided with a separate room that is clean and modest room. You'll also take your 3 meals with the host family. Living with a host family is a wonderful opportunity to learn and get acquainted with Cambodian culture and lifestyle.
Volunteer will also have 24/7 access to our office in Cambodia and mobile number of our coordinators. Our staffs also visit volunteers in each 1-2 week interval as a part of the program. Details covering living accommodations provided prior to arrival |

 Orphanage projects are available in Phnom Penh (known as the "Pearl of Asia" is home to Royal Palace , Wat Phnom, National Museum , and Toul Sleng Genocide Museum) , Pursat (temples of Angkor Wat and the Tonle Sap ) and Kampot (Bokor Mountain close to the beautiful beaches and islands in the gulf of Thailand), with shops, banks & internet cafes nearby. Khmer people are the predominant ethnic group in Cambodia. Khmer or Cambodian is the language of the Khmer people and the official language of Cambodia. It is pleasure of the local people to show the volunteer around and to give the volunteer an idea of country life in Cambodia. Full of distinction from traditional culture and history of the Khmer people to modern urban infrastructure infused with traditional architectural influence, still, there exist many of the amenities you would expect from a city.
Volunteers can organize different possible excursions during and after the project to visit places of interest. There is a tourist infrastructure already in place the volunteer can use during weekends. For example: markets, internet cafes, temples, boat racing festivals, Kampot Zoo, waterfalls (rapids), kampot pepper farms, art, restaurants, beaches, hotels, and many more. |
