Teach English in Rural Schools

 English is virtually becoming the language of global commerce. As this trend further emerges, proper English education provided by native English-speakers (or individuals with a high level of English fluency) are becoming more of a priceless commodity. Unfortunately, many of the impoverished citizens of Argentina cannot often afford adequate English education for their children (or themselves), making the role of volunteers willing to bestow their skills upon the Argentinean masses crucial.
Rustic Volunteer Travel collaborates with rural schools surrounding Córdoba provide volunteers/travelers to reach out to citizens not residing within the confines of the city. Volunteers working in this English-teaching project can make a meaningful contribution in the lives of rural children by sharpening and honing their English skills. Improving these children's conversational English makes for a better future as well as helping them to compete and participate in the global market.

| Project/Volunteer's Life: |
Volunteers will assist school-based educators in teaching English to children, in a small public school residing in the outlying, rural areas of Córdoba. In addition to teaching English, volunteers will also assist in teaching other subjects as well as helping children with their homework, helping with recreational activities, arts-related exercises, encouraging various levels of the children's self-expression, supporting the kitchen staff (serving meals, cleaning, etc) as well as routine maintenance. Assistance may also be needed with various administrative duties of the school as well as providing help with educating the younger learners pertaining to issues of personal hygiene and sanitation.

| Skills and Qualification |
No specific qualifications are required to join the English-teaching project in Argentina . However, interested individuals should have a passion and eagerness to help less fortunate children. While Spanish is preferred it is not required. |

| Meals/Accommodations: |
Rustic Volunteer Travel provides accommodation (two beds per room) and breakfast in a well kept house in a very quiet and safe middle class residential neighborhood which is less than 10 minutes walk to downtown. This situation allows participants to make friends fast and to immerse more easily in the local culture. The Tango classes are provided in this house, which also serves as our local partner's organization's office so you will have permanent access to our in country coordinators. |

 English teaching projects are available in Córdoba. As South America’s second largest country, Argentina is renowned for its heavily Italian and Spanish influenced culture, rich history of literature, Flora (subtropical plants) and fauna. Argentina's urban areas have a European look, reflecting the influence of European settlers as well as the traditional Spanish-grid style around a main square (plaza) However most of its cities offer most of the amenities you would expect from any city. Volunteers can organize different possible excursions during and after the project to visit places of interest. There is a tourist infrastructure already in place the volunteer can use during weekends. For example: architecture, museums, city tours, tango, sports, restaurants, art, folk music, festivals, hotels, and much more.
