Children with Disabilities Trip code: ARG3
With a large number of Argentineans living in poverty, it is often an arduous task to be able to adequately provide for even a healthy child. Much like the limited healthcare system existing within many developing nations, individuals requiring special needs are often left by the wayside.
Rustic Volunteer Travel collaborates with a locally-operated service provider for disabled individuals to get volunteers to help supply various levels of support. Working with disabled children can prove to be very emotionally challenging for volunteers though extremely rewarding. While observing the ways disabilities have affected young lives can be heartrending, the work is immensely uplifting at the same time. It is truly amazing to watch a child respond to your love, care, and attention.

| Project/Volunteer's Life: |
Volunteers/travelers will assist the sometimes-exhausted, staff members who provide a sense of hope and significantly important services to various disabled youth of Argentina . This project can often be both emotionally-trying and difficult at times - reminding volunteers of the strength they must possess to be able to adequately and effectively participate in this project. Alongside the appreciative staff members working at this particular center, volunteers will assist in a number of ways: caring for and serving as a companion to the disabled, escorting the children on various field trips, assisting in physical/occupational therapy sessions, helping the children with gardening, arts and crafts, creativity-based activities, sports, as well as lending a helping hand in the center's kitchen (preparing and serving meals, routine clean-up, etc.).

| Project Locations: |
Children With Diabilities projects are available in Córdoba. As South America’s second largest country, Argentina is renowned for its heavily Italian and Spanish influenced culture, rich history of literature, Flora (subtropical plants) and fauna. Argentina's urban areas have a European look, reflecting the influence of European settlers as well as the traditional Spanish-grid style around a main square (plaza) However most of its cities offer most of the amenities you would expect from any city. Volunteers can organize different possible excursions during and after the project to visit places of interest. There is a tourist infrastructure already in place the volunteer can use during weekends. For example: architecture, museums, city tours, tango, sports, restaurants, art, folk music, festivals, hotels, and much more.
